Version and changes
20021001: New improved
version 2.0 of this material for the test and the documentation
with tables and figures of the results
in step S3.
The steps S1 and S201, S202, ..., S209, S210 include additional test pages no. 1 to 7 for the test of the reproduction properties in comparison with the OEM modul.
2. Test goal and short description of the test procedure
It is asumed that the series no. 1 to
10 are reproduced by 250 pages each.
In the following step S201 only seven pages are reproduced
as reference.
Step S1: Start output of series no. 1 with 250 pages.
The CIE lightness L* data of the 16 grey steps on the end
page (Step S1, page 250) are measured and used for the
linearized output of the steps S201, S202, ..., S209, S210
(Output of 7 pages and 9 series of 250 pages each) as well as
for the result documentation in step S3.
Step S201: Linearized output of Step S201 (250 pages, special test
pages 244 to 250 as reference) of the series no. 1 in Step S201.
The CIE lightness L* data of the 16 equidistant
grey steps on the end page (Step S201, page 250) are measured
and used for the result documentation in step S3. The pages
244 to 250 are used for reference also
Step S202, S203, ..., S209, S210: Output series no. 2 to 10 of 1/10 (250 pages) of the declared OEM yield with 5% area coverage black and the additional test pages no. 1 to 7.
Step S3:
Output of 10 pages with two tables and figures for the specification
of the reproduction properties (CIE lightness differences
L* ) of the 16 grey steps in the L* device output
range according to the method given in Annex G of DIN 33866-1:2000-08
and ISO/IEC 15775:1999-12.
The tables and figures are produced from the measurement of the
16 grey steps of the pages 250 of series no. 1 in step S1 and
of page 250, 500, 750, ..., 2500 of the series no. 1 to 10 in
step S201, S202, ..., S209, S210. All measurement data
are included in only one file which produces an output of 10 pages
to show the reproduction properties of the series no. 1 to 10.

The yield of a cartidge is described as a ratio of the numbers of pages produced by the refilled modul compared to the OEM modul. The printed pages of the series S101 and S201 to S209 add to 2500 pages. If additional output is necessary then the series S210 may be used several times.
Remark: It is recommended to print step by step the pages 1 to 250, 251 to 500, ..., 2000 to 2250, 2251 to 2500 of the steps S201, S202, ..., S209, S210 from the file A02GS02FP.PDF (produced from A02GS2FP.PS by the software Adobe Acrobat Distiller).
